Raptureless

22 May

They said it was coming,
They said they knew when,
They advertised it on billboards,
But cancelled it in the end.

So we are Raptureless,
The Christians are still here,
The date passed us by,
But the reasons are very clear.

They still have lessons to learn,
From that holy book of theirs,
Spend more time fixing themselves,
And stop with the tribulation scares.

Treating others as they wish
To be treated would be nice,
Tolerance, acceptance,
And respect would be good advice.

And if the Rapture eventually
Happens, save the date,
As the day the Divine took those
Of all religions whom did not hate.

Freedom Of Religion

14 May

I pledged allegiance
To my country’s flag,
A symbol of hope and
Unity like our constitution.
Our constitution we
Rely on for assurance
That we all have
Freedom of religion.
As a Christian,
I accepted that freedom.
Then as an Agnostic,
I put my hopes in that freedom.
Now as a Wiccan,
I hold a deep conviction
With that freedom.
Freedom to feel a
Connection with You,
My God and Goddess,
Without dogma.
Freedom to associate
With others whom use
The same guiding principles,
Tenets of Wicca, but do
Not profess their way as the
Only way to You. For we
Each walk a path of
Our own making, similar
Or different to others’ paths,
While climbing the same
Mountain to connect
With the Divine.

Beltane Bonfires

1 May

Beltane bonfires
Lit and burning,
Dancers leap across
For the Wheel of
The Year’s turning

Seeds are sown for
A bountiful harvest’s yearning,
Setting the stage
For the change we desire
And lessons we wish to be learning

Beltane bonfires
Bring hope on this May Day,
God and Goddess
We celebrate your union,
Meditate and pray

The May Queen Returns

13 Apr

Hail Flora,
The May Queen returns,
Flower crowned Maiden.
Turn away Cailleach,
The Winter Queen,
Scythe bearing Hag
Of winter storms,
Cold winds, and barren
Earth. The Crone
Bows reluctantly in
Defeat to the Maiden
As the Wheel of the
Year turns again,
She retreats for six
Months, and waits.
Grass greens beneath
The Maiden’s feet,
Trees flower, flowers
Reach up from the ground
As she pssses by. The
Hunter is in the woods,
And she smiles, knowing
He will soon come to Her.

Beneath A Willow

10 Apr

Beneath a willow
Tree the Maiden Goddess waits
For the sprightly youth

Beneath a willow
She sits smiling wearing a
Crown of fresh flowers

Beneath a willow
The God in his youthful form
Does find her waiting

Beneath a willow
The courtship begins again,
Timeless love story

Something Wiccan This Way Comes

31 Mar
The moon is full
High in the sky
Something Wiccan this way comes

Fire in a grove
Burns brightly tonight
Something Wiccan this way comes

Voices chant
To the beat of drums
Something Wiccan this way comes

Dancing in a circle
Figures robed or skyclad
Something Wiccan this way comes

Circle cast
Four corners called
Something Wiccan this way comes

Evocation
An invitation
Something Wiccan this way comes

Energy raised
Spell cast forth
Something Wiccan this way comes

Contentment within
Goddess joins celebration
Something Wiccan this way comes

Under a Blue Moon
Goddess gives her blessing
Something Wiccan this way comes

For now
And forever
Something Wiccan this way comes

My Arms Stretched Skyward I Draw Down The Moon

25 Mar

My arms stretched skyward I draw down the moon,
In this ancient grove ’round bonfire display,
I dance to the beat of a sacred tune.

With the Divine I do seek to commune,
To God and Goddess my voice loud I pray,
My arms stretched skyward I draw down the moon.

Honoring the Mother of blessed triune,
Joy filled heart of a Wiccan devotee,
I dance to the beat of a sacred tune.

With energy raised I begin to swoon,
Grounding the excess I dare not delay,
My arms stretched skyward I draw down the moon.

With measured resonance poetry I croon,
Feeling the magic of this moment’s play,
I dance to the beat of a sacred tune.

Though my ritual shall be ending soon,
I will continue moving on my Way,
My arms stretched skyward I draw down the moon,
I dance to the beat of a sacred tune.
